Purpose.
Sand traps are designed for the separation of heavy mineral impurities (mainly sand and silt) from wastewater. It is used as a part of treatment facilities (before settling tanks of household and stormwater runoff) and before discharge into the city sewer.
Field of application of sand traps:
- petrol station
- Parking Lots, Parking Lots, Garages;
- Car wash;
- Industrial enterprise;
Working process.
During settling there is a partial extraction of petroleum products that are collected on the surface. In case of need of cleaning of drains to norms of discharge in system of the storm Sewerage or to MPC of discharge in fishery reservoirs, after the sand catcher the oil trap or the non-pressure sorption filter is established. The absence of a sand catcher in storm water treatment plants inevitably leads to the accumulation of sand in the treatment units, which leads to failures in operation and disruption of processes in the treatment plants. As a result of the sand catcher at the bottom of the structure formed sediment on the water mirror-oil-gasoline film.
